Teens & Young Adults, SIGN UP for
the COOLEST Summer EVER!
-(Mt 5:13-14) Theme of the 2002 World Youth Day Pilgrimage
YOUth are the SALT of the EARTH and LIGHT of the WORLD (Cf: Mt 5:13-14), Pope John Paul IIs slogan to youth for the year, and food for thought for MI Youth events for Summer, 2002. Join us for the MI World Youth Day Pilgrimage to Canada, July 22-29, 2002 and/or an MI Teen 5 Day Summer Program. Lets make it a 100% REAL Catholic Summer to remember!
What if our salt goes FLAT? Who digs salt-free popcorn or salt-free fries? The Pope calls YOUth to season this PLANET with Christ. Dont be a bland Catholic; come discover the fever for the flavor of Christ in your life. Pope John Paul II tells us: Just as salt gives flavour to food and light illumines the darkness, so too holiness gives full meaning to life. May God make you, dear young people, the saints of the third millennium! (JPII, WYD Letter, 2002)
Holy ZING! Get in touch with the REAL YOU and become the saint you were created to be. After all, no one likes an IMITATION. Mark your calendars NOW and sign up for some life-changing experiences. Add that HOLY ZING to our planet that only YOUth can bring! (See below to register for the MI WYD, 2002 Pilgrimage to Canada.)
World Youth Day, Toronto, 2002 (ages 16-35), July 22 July 29, 2002
This exclusive MI Youth Pilgrimage includes the following and so much MORE: Daily Mass, priests available to hear Confessions and provide spiritual direction, service projects, formation in the spirituality of St. Maximilian Kolbe, and an opportunity to make an act of total consecration to Mary.
The pilgrimage begins at 4 pm on July 22, 2002 at Marytown,
1600 West Park Ave., Libertyville, IL, and concludes on July
29, 2002 at Marytown. We will depart Libertyville to Niagara
Falls where we will visit the Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima,
with the chance to view Niagra Falls. There we will visit a
butterfly conservatory, one of the largest in North America.
Traveling through Montreal and Quebec City, we will venerate
the tomb of Blessed Kateri and visit a traditional Iroquoin
Village. There we will experience Indian song and dance, taking
in the atmosphere that the French Canadian Martyrs would have
experienced. Be inspired by the martyrs sacrifice with
a Mass at the Chapel of the Jesuits. Then on to Trois-Rivieres
and visits to the Shrine of Notre Dame du Cap and la Cap du
Madeleine, followed by a visit to renowned parishes on the breath-taking
island of Ile dOrleans. Wet your appetite with dinners
in places like Hard Rock Café and the traditional French
Canadian Sugar Shack. Finally, gear up to camp out
under the stars with youth from around the globe for the WYD
Vigil and Closing Mass with the Pope. Dont miss out!
The total cost of the pilgrimage is $775 and will include
transportation from Marytown to Toronto and back, as well as
transportation with-in Canada, lodging, meals (breakfast and
dinner only), and tips and fees. We are limiting this pilgrimage
to the first 100 pilgrims we receive paid registrations from.
